Submission to Labour Party consultation on Industrial Strategy

Could a modern industrial strategy provide a vehicle to help achieve the economic transformation needed to address profound eco-system and social challenges?

The Institute has submitted evidence to the Labour Party consultation on industrial strategy which sets out key concepts, themes and practices that it thinks could contribute to economic transformation.  It focuses on thinking about green and circular economies, and addresses four core themes: strongly mission-led businesses; corporate governance reform, widening business ownership and spreading co-operative models; city-based devolution and localisation; and technological and socio-technical innovation.  It also raises important questions about the future of work, productivity and economic growth.
